As the Cambia Grove team takes a pause in summer programming, I’ve been reflecting on our community’s incredible start to 2018. Keep reading for highlights from the first six months, an announcement and our summer schedule at the Cambia Grove.
Highlights & Thank You!
This year has been full of new programs, new partners and new people at Cambia Grove. We launched our 2018 Strategic Plan in January and got right to work with our 5 Points Conference, taking a deep dive into our health care system design and functionality. We launched a data initiative, interviewing 74 stakeholders on how we as a community can better use data for health innovation, leading to an initiative to launch a community powered Data Resource Directory. We also partnered with UW Medicine’s Primary Care Innovation Lab to create and launch the TRAILS Competition, selecting Litesprite as the inaugural winner after 3 rounds of judging. It’s been a busy 6 months.
Our final event in the first half of the year was Startup Day Seattle. Cambia Grove was fortunate to be selected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to host one of just a handful of events featuring federal resources within HHS, NIH, CMS and several other agencies. We packed the house for a full day including a Blue Button 2.0 Demo from Cambia Health Solutions, a lineup of federal and local speakers and breakout sessions. I hope everyone who joined us found the connections and information you were looking for.
A huge thank you to everyone who made the first six months of 2018 a success at the Cambia Grove! Everything we do is powered by partnerships. We couldn’t serve our health innovation community without you!
Growing our Community
As a community, we have accomplished a lot since January, but we all know that in health care, there is always more work to be done. To continue the momentum and help us achieve our goals for growing and supporting the community, Cambia Grove is pleased to announce that Nick Jackal will be joining the team as our new Community Relations Manager!
Nick has tremendous experience building coalitions to drive impact for communities around the country. Most recently, Nick served as the Director of Community Programs at Food Lifeline. His work contributed to Food Lifeline’s ability to distribute over 250,000 meals per year while building a stronger network of partners to continue Food Lifeline’s impact in our region.
As the Community Relations Manager, Nick will be focused on engaging with a broader community of stakeholders to gather new ideas and information. He will ensure that the programs and initiatives at the Cambia Grove are relevant to the ever-evolving health innovation community. We look forward to welcoming Nick to the team on July 23. Please stop by and say hello!
As you may have noticed, our calendar of events is looking a bit light. For the months of July and August, we are pausing our own programming to evaluate our work and plan our 2019 initiatives. Cambia Grove will continue to be open 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday during the summer months, so please feel free to rent a room, host an event or come by for some free coffee and co-working space. We love seeing you all during the day.
Additionally, if you have an idea for a program you are interested in seeing at the Cambia Grove, we are all ears! Please let us know what would help you innovate in health care. Feel free to reach out to me personally at firstname.lastname@example.org and give your input as we build our 2019 roadmap.
Thank you all for a fantastic start to 2018! I hope you have a wonderful summer.
