The Cascadia Region is known for its deep bench of technology, biotechnology, and healthcare talent. This showcase is a public forum for early stage companies to demonstrate their products and services aimed at transforming healthcare.
To be eligible companies must be based in the Cascadia Region (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia). Products eligible include interactive apps, portable diagnostic tools, new wave health IT, data discovery techniques, and new technology-based approaches for patient engagement or therapy. Companies must have launched their offerings or be on the verge of launching them such that working systems can be demonstrated.
This is a public forum with a wide range of attendees expected including other entrepreneurs, engineers, technology managers, clinicians, hospital administrators, payor innovation teams, and others. The event follows day 1 of the Geekwire Summit held at the Hyatt Regency Seattle nearby.
10 companies will be selected from the applicant pool. Criteria include:
1. Potential for transforming a key problem in healthcare (healthcare value proposition)
2. The quality of the working product/service
3. Market opportunity and traction (evidence that customers or potential customers will adopt the solution)
4. Strength of the team
5. Competitive advantage
