Join Dr. Eric Rose to discuss how to use health informatics to improve outcomes, quality of care and cost effectiveness.
Dr. Eric Rose is a family physician and clinical informaticist with over 15 years' experience in the health IT industry, mostly in product development roles for clinical information systems and computable content. His personal mission is to improve the quality, cost-effectiveness, and patient experience of health care through improved management of health information. Dr. Rose currently serves as Vice President of Clinical Informatics at Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO), a provider of clinical terminology content and terminology-enabled products. At IMO he led the creation and maintenance of a large corpus of health terminology content, its mappings to standardized vocabularies (including SNOMED, LOINC, etc.), and creation of additional computable layers to make this content interoperable and actionable in clinical information systems (e.g. for clinical decision support, quality measurement, or epidemiologic reporting). Prior to joining IMO, he held various informatics and product development-oriented positions at Microsoft, McKesson, and IDX. He also continues to practice, and serves on the faculty of the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics at the University of Washington.
