"Cambia Grove is creating the space for both serendipitous and purposeful connections between health care and innovation, bolstering our leadership position"
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Karl fell in love with entrepreneurship as a teenager. Inspired at a Business Week summer camp, Karl quickly developed a deep passion for innovative startup business developments. This resolve stuck with him through college, leading him to get his BS in Business Economics and Psychology. Karl started his career in the commercial banking field becoming one of the top SBA lenders in the State. Later, Karl transitioned to public sector work honing his fiscal and policy analytical skills working for the City of Seattle. Karl has played multiple leadership roles at the City, including leading citywide budget teams, acting as the Energy Advisor to the Mayor, and guiding citywide regulatory projects that benefit business. Currently, Karl provides support to the Life Science and Global Health industry in the Office of Economic Development and is happy spending his days keeping Seattle an amazing place to live, work, and play, one program at a time.
