AutoFALL Automatic Fall Detection Pendant
Automatic fall detection pendant uses sensors and software to determine if a wearer has fallen. In the event of a fall, the device will initiate a call to our Emergency Response Center. The Emergency Response Center will know the name and location of the wearer, and summon help. The Emergency Response Center agent can contact family, caregivers, neighbors or EMS as needed and will both call and send text messages in the event of a dispatch.

The sensors within the AutoFALL pendant may include accelorometers, magnometers, and gyroscopes along with firmware to determine the difference between a drop and a fall. In our ELITE model, four pendant sensors gather potential fall data: two accelerometers, a magnetometer and a gyroscope. When the sensors detect a potential fall, the Pendant gathers additional data for up 10 seconds. It then sends data to the cloud-based "classifier" for analysis. If a fall pattern is identified, the ELITE Pendant will announce "a fall has been detected" and notify the emergency response center. This process takes 30-45 seconds.

Category of Innovation
Digital Health - A digital health solution is a technology-based solution whose user is caring for or providing care for themselves (think of a personal app) or another individual (such as a doctor using a tool to help their patient)
Intended End User
Payer - Organizations responsible for issuing or administering payment for the care received by a population of people (e.g. insurance companies)
Patient - Individuals who receive health care
Provider - Individuals or organizations responsible for providing care to patients (e.g. doctors, nurses, hospital/clinic administrators, etc.)
Purchaser - Organizations responsible for purchasing health benefits for a population of people (e.g. employers or government entities)

Solution
Idea/solution to the problem, if applicable
Automatic Fall Detection means the device worn by a subscriber can detect motion and initiate a signal to call our emergency response monitoring center without the user having to press the button. Automatic fall detection adds an additional layer of protection in the event the user is unable to press the button for themselves.
Level of adoption (i.e. list of customers/users, testimonials, etc.), if applicable
Thousands of fall detection pendants in use - this is a proven technology that is widely adopted, but not widely understood.
Impact (i.e. measurable outcomes), if applicable
Increased speed of delivery of emergency help; reduction in hospital readmissions; improved safety for elderly patents in their own home.
