Robin Shapiro believes that health care advocacy in the near future will be a common skill that people develop to have the best health outcome possible. Robin has worked in health care-related public relations, public affairs, crisis management, marketing and health advocacy work since 1988. She is founder of award- winning healthcare engagement companies. She co-founded and is the Board Chair of the Washington State Health Advocacy Association (WASHAA). She is a nationally recognized pioneer in the Health Advocacy movement. Her book, The Secret Language of Healthcare: How to Ask for the Care You Deserve, was published October 2019 based on her experiences working in health advocacy. She currently serves on the International Women’s Forum – WA Forum (as Vice President and Program Chair) in addition to investing and advising start-up companies.
